ArcherFest Pathfinder LARP

The Mayoress and the GnomeDemonologist dragged to Abyss

ArcherFest was our first attempt at a live interactive written here in the UK. Carol Tierney and team, did a grand job scripting it and we had an afternoon of plotted confusion, misdirection, subterfuge, treachery and unmasking in the River Kingdoms. It ended fittingly with a vampire unmasked and Chris Brockley Blatt's demonologist being dragged off to the Abyss. We were especially delighted to involve many people who don't normally play Pathfinder and we look forward to seeing them again. Since Conception we have had enquiries from other countries to ask if they could use this special Pathfider LARP.

KidstrackKids' Track spawns offsprings

Rich's Kids Track was really popular and gathered steam over the weekend as more children were released from school. He ran encounters from the Beginners Box Bash and then some full length Pathfinder Society adventures. We have had enthusiastic feedback from all the parents. Several of the kids are going home inspired and nagging their parents to run a regular campaign with their friends.

Paul James muster masterSeven and a half minute muster master

Mustering into viable table groups has always been difficult but Paul James did amazing work rallying the forces. He regularly broke his own record until he got it down to seven and a half minutes. Pretty damn fast! Thanks so much for getting our games underway and for swopping players around to make viable games. The Conception system of rushing to sign-up sheets 24-hours before the game can be stressful. We try to make it easier by inviting GMs to commit to slots on an online schedule and we print sign-up sheets with a Synopsis and Tiering details. These go to the Conception committee who put them up in the appropriate slot. Please let us know if you have other suggestions.

Wyrd Sisters' kitchen

The Wyrd Sisters kitchen saved the lives of many a busy GM with good, tasty, hot food fresh from the cauldron for pressurised Refs. There were copious quantities and delicious flavours and they even delivered to people who couldn't get off duty. Big thanks to Tonya, Chris and Carol!

John BustonThe Iron GM

John Buston ran more than 50 hours of adventures and more games than any other GM. He often ran into the early hours of the morning and then bounced out of bed for the next day's first session. You can see him here, weary but un-broken, wearing his solid-gold-plastic medal after the very last game.

Crispy now 5-Star GM5-Star GM

Our highly esteemed GM, Crispy, qualified as a 5-Star GM, part-way through the convention with his 150th game. He has been a huge asset to Pathfinder players ever since his first PaizoCon UK where he stepped in to run the Shadow Lodge Special at a moment's notice. If you have ever played on his table then you know just how good he is. If you have never played with Crispy then join the queue to get on his table. You have a treat in store.

Star Cakes for our star GMsStar Cakes for GMs

We had nearly 40 Star GMs running games at Conception. Every one got a Star Cake to say "thank you". Several of them ran enough games to increase their star rating even higher. Please let us know if you did so, to enable us to update your entry on the PaizoCon UK website.

New kids on the block

Several brand new GMs ran Pathfinder games for us for the first time at Conception and all of them have had excellent feedback from players who really enjoyed their games. Thanks Matt, Mickey, George, Snowy, Gael and Auke. We also attracted some promises of help at future events...thanks Alison.

Carrion Hill

Mad mods

Conception is the perfect place for modules because you can settle into a lodge and play all day. Here you see six go mad in the deeply disturbing "Carrion Hill", creepily run by Snowy.

Games Expo

30th May to 1st June, Birmingham. This is the closest thing to GenCon that we have in the UK. It's very, very big. Please volunteer to run Pathfinder games. This year it will be bigger than ever and we are running one-hour sample encounters as well as full length PFS adventures. WE NEED YOU, especially for some of those one-hour demos! If you volunteer for 4 x four-hour slots and 4 x one-hour slots, you get free entry, free accommodation and a little beer money too! Interested? Please let us know.
