Riddleport in Varisia is a haven for pirates and sea-faring brigands, teeming with criminals, rogues and outsiders of all kinds, including the mysterious order of Cyphermages.

Most people see Riddleport as an anarchic abode of pirates and brigands, but the city has actually been quite stable since Overlord Gaston Cromarcky took office (by murdering the pirate captain who held it before him). Cromarcky has held his position for 30 years but the city still seethes with power struggles and rivalries under the surface. Rumour has it that Cromarcky’s fortunes are waning and there are several powerful figures vying to be next in line as ruler. Allegiances are being forged, tested and reforged on an almost daily basis.

Even allowing for the current climate, it came as quite a surprise when crimelord Avery Slyeg announced that one of his daughters was to marry the son of Boss Croat, the hideous half-orc drug baron. Interest rose even higher when rumours began to circulate that Croat was to receive a substantial dowry including the fabled Kraken’s Opal which is rumoured to have originally belonged to one of the Jeweled Sages of Osirion although it has been hotly contested pirate booty for many decades and stolen more times than any records can track. Even those who didn’t want to see the wedding want to see the jewel – and whether it manages to survive the public outing without being stolen yet again.

The game will take place at the wedding party and will feature plots, intrigue and lots of chances to say “Arrrrrr!”
